XILAN's Vision
Our first vision is to make available to every human being worldwide the qualities, flavors, and aromas of this unique plant called Cinnamon, which is endemic to the fertile land within the pearls of the Indian Ocean. Thousands of years ago, the business community came across the Silk Road in search of the unique cinnamon plant, and our vision is to continue to inspire it as an enjoyable consumer product and to carry forward the business legacy that was started and developed by my maternal ancestry.
XILAN's Mission
As a female entrepreneur, we aim to help other female entrepreneurs achieve their dreams by building sustainable development, eco-friendliness, and friendly dealings with the world. Our mission is to enhance the quality, taste, and aroma of the Sri Lankan cinnamon brand worldwide and to increase the representation of women in the industry and their strength by preserving the labor value of cinnamon, a product made only by human hands.
XILAN's Objectives
Our objective is to bring the world's most valuable natural, medicinal, and marketable cinnamon products to the kitchens of world consumers outside our Island.
XILAN's intentions
For the next 5 years, black cinnamon will be a brand that will remain in the human mind, recognizing its true quality, aroma, and high taste. Spreads the XILAN best cinnamon flavor in every kitchen around the world we intend to introduce that taste to consumers who have not yet consumed XILAN's Cinnamon.

XILAN cinnamon shrubs grow beautifully and lovely in the temperate climate of Hakmana village in Matara. We always obtain XILAN cinnamon plants from Agrarian Service Plant Nurseries approved by the Kamburupitiya Cinnamon Research Institute. When planting, the pits are dug at the proper distance and size under the supervision of the Agriculture Officer. Two plants are planted in one pit. Fertilizer and water are applied on a quarterly basis. We always try to make the best use of natural methods to prevent weeding and insect damage. Our company always cultivates Sri Vijaya and Sri Gemunu varieties, sweet chilli cinnamon and sweet cinnamon.
XILAN cinnamon is classified as Alba, C5 Extra ordinary, C5 Special, C5, C4, C3, M5 Special, M5, M4, H1, H2 Special and H2, 'H3 with the approval of the Research Institute. Cinnamon, bale and cinnamon sticks are maintained in length and weight as approved by the Cinnamon Research Institute.
The cinnamon production process takes place in our company with 70% female participation. The processing stages that employ such labor are harvesting cinnamon, it is best to cut only the number of trees that can be crushed in a day, removing the soft outer bark using specially designed cutting tools, and rolling to approve sizes and drying in the shade to prevent warping. Special care and attention is paid when packaging for export. Labeling and packaging is packaged with laboratory certificates on export country rules and regulations. At the same time, XILAN Cinnamon is a major focus of export pricing to ensure maximum fairness to consumers.
About me
I am Shamila Lakmini Molligoda, a wife of a loving husband and a mother of two sons and a daughter. I hold a Diploma in Business Management from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. I'm a trained planter at the Kamburupitiya Cinnamon Research Institute. I participated in training sessions, counseling sessions, and practical training conducted by the Department of Agriculture. I was also a member of the Skills Development Program for Women Entrepreneurs organized jointly by the International Women's Foundation and the International Financial Assistance Foundation. I hold a Montessori Diploma from Lyceum and a Certificate for Design from the Colombo Business School.
